Thought leadership

Fundamental to our approach is make Engage for change a thought leader and reference brand in leader and employee engagement. This tradition is rooted in our time as SmytheDorwardLambert where we raised the flag for communication, the leader’s role in communication and change communication.

Through our writing (see books and publications) speaking and learning events we aim to act as conduit and catalyst for the debate on leader & employee engagement.

We believe that this movement is more than a management process. It coincides with a fundamental shift away from the loyalty-for-security contract which characterized the command-and-control hierarchical approaches to leadership of former generations. People will no longer accept paternalism and adult-child employee relations – they want to be engaged in decision-making where they can add value and speed things up (see myths).

Leadership and employee engagement is “a philosophy of leadership first and a set of practical approaches second”
